FANS DIDN'T KNOW

Fans were blindsided when hip hop legend Big Tigger surprised them with a photo taken from a hospital almost two weeks ago, unaware that he was scheduled for major surgery.

A close up of the rapper born Darian Morgan featured him in a gown and cap but his caption gave no clue why he was on a hospital bed. His hashtag "#ReadyNotReady" was the best fans could get out of him, signaling a procedure was on the way.

"...just three days before his operation he was still on his radio show on WAAF 107.3 ahead of the Pacquiao/Thurman Las Vegas fight."

HE FINALLY REVEALED WHAT HAPPENED THROUGH A HASHTAG

The following day, things were clearer when Tigger shared a clip of him in recovery and wrote: “I survived.” In the short video, he’s seen exerting effort walking down the hospital hallway with the help a nurse and a medical walker.

“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes... Much love to Dr. Bradbury and the entire staff at#EmoryHospital,” added the 46-year-old before revealing what actually transpired during his operation in the telling hashtag “#BrandNewHip.”

The decision to undergo the procedure isn’t taken lightly which means Tigger must have planned for this while keeping it away from the public.

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

It appears Tigger underwent a hip replacement procedure which until now remains unclear why. The major operation is usually the last resort for patients who suffer from hip arthritis prompting medical experts to replace the surface of the damaged hip joint with an artificial implant.

He certainly kept it well considering just three days before his operation he was still on his radio show on WAAF 107.3 ahead of the Pacquiao/Thurman Las Vegas fight. He was also photographed soaking some sun at the Mandalay Bay.

We now know the “Rap City” host is in better shape thanks to another clip he shared last week. Already out of the hospital and dressed in casual wear, Tigger showed off his improved condition by sampling a walk which he does with much ease compared to his clip post-surgery. He still has a walker with him but it was evident from his smile that his recovery is going smoothly.

After thanking fans for their support in his caption, he again clued in on his state through the hashtags “#Recovering #DoingBetter #BrandNewHip. He also displayed a sense of humor when he added, “#Cyborg #BionicMan #Hipster #ThisIsMyLife.”

Yesterday, Tigger revealed he’s “getting better” and “getting stronger” describing his past nine days through a clip of a man struggling to walk with crutches. It may take three to six weeks for hip replacement patients to fully recover from the operation so we can expect him to be laying low from a busy schedule though this shouldn’t keep him from being back in the airwaves in no time.

Wishing for Tigger's speedy recovery.
