Story behind OJ Simpson's Relationship with the Kardashian Family

The Kardashian name and O.J Simpson got linked many years ago, and the story behind how it came to be is quite fascinating. It seems like something out of a Hollywood movie.

The Kardashian name got linked to O.J Simpson through their late patriarch, Robert “Bobby” Kardashian. But before the world saw Kardashian reading the former NFL player’s suicide note, their story already began.

HOW KARDASHIAN AND SIMPSON BECAME FRIENDS

In ’67 while the two were students at the University of Southern California, they met and hit things off. But they didn’t become friends until they met at a mutual friend’s home while playing tennis.

The friendship blossomed into a business partnership, and when they married Kris Jenner (nee Houghton) and Nicole Brown, respectively, (their wives) became a part of the friendship.

The bond between Kardashian and Simpson was so strong that when the latter got accused of killing Brown and Ronald Goldman, the former renewed his law license to join his friend’s defense team.

THE IMPACT OF THAT FRIENDSHIP AND THE YEARS THAT FOLLOWED

Joining the defense team led to a lot of strain between Kardashian and Kris Jenner whom he had divorced at the time. She believed the former broadcaster was guilty, and as Kim Kardashian later explained:

“It caused a lot of strain in our family because we didn’t know which parents to side.”

Years after the famous trial, and after the father-of-four passed, the bond he shared with Simpson led to the speculation that Khloe Kardashian might be Simpson's daughter.

The rumor continued for years until the former NFL player addressed it on Twitter on June 17, 2019. Interestingly, the day he put the rumors to bed marked the 25th anniversary of the day he surrendered to the police.

It is equally the day Kardashian became famous as the man who read Simpson’s suicide note while he took the police on a slow chase.

SIMPSON IS PROUD OF ROBERT KARDASHIAN’S GIRLS

Simpson said:

“Khloe like all the girls, I’m very proud of, just like I know that Bobby will be if he were here. But the simple fact of the matter is that she’s not mine.”

He also made it clear he was never in a relationship with Jenner, and only saw her as a friend.

While many appreciated the gesture, the Kardashian girls and Jenner had in 2018 done a genetics origin test, that guaranteed everyone that the “Revenge Body” boss has middle eastern and European heritage.

The TV stars made sure they filmed it on an episode of their reality show, KUWTK, to make sure the rumors do not return.

Although the paternity issue no longer exists, the Kardashian name will forever get linked with that of the man they once called Uncle J.
