The White House hosted a grand ceremony this week to honor the Washington Nationals after emerging victorious in the baseball match against the Houston Astros.

The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, joined the US capital in their victory cheer following a baseball match won against the Houston Astros last week.

The former fashion model, 49, honored the Washington Nationals in a White House ceremony and donned a navy blue coat for the occasion.

Residents of the United States capital have witnessed moments of celebrations since the big win of the Nationals who made them proud, but non was more gallant than the first lady.

The 49-year-old wore a navy blue coat, with white and red lapels, specially designed by Stella McCartney as a tribute to the winning team’s colors.

The coat was buttoned down to her knee, with two pocket flaps visible on the lower half of the stunning outfit. She complimented the dressing with a pair of high heeled shoes and loose hair that teased her shoulders, giving off a warm effect.

The First Lady's captivating smile completed the executive look, as she stood proudly beside her husband to laud the Nats.

The Slovenian-American shared a series of photos from the event on Twitter while congratulating the victorious athletes for the season’s glory. She tweeted:

“It Was Wonderful To Welcome World Series Champions Washington @Nationals to the @WhiteHouse today! Congratulations on an amazing season!”

Followers of the First Lady also took to the platform to share their gratitude to her for showing devotion to the Washington athletes. One user commented:

“So wonderful that you were able to welcome the World Series Champions at the White House!”

Another added:

“Awesome day! A moment in history, these players will remember and share with their families. Woohoo, Washington Nationals!”

The baseball stars presented the President with a customized Nationals jersey, with his name inscribed on the back, while expressing their gratitude to him.

During the event, the President addressed the MLB players and commended them for their joint efforts and determination to bring the cup to the capital.

He said:

“You stayed in the fight. You were down so much from the national season to the postseason. I would think that the odds would have been pretty small… You have tremendous heart, maybe even greater heart. You stayed in the fight. I just want to congratulate everybody.”

He also explained the historical significance of the moment, while stating that the last time the capital witnessed a victory was during Calvin Coolidge’s reign.

The first lady’s appearance in the gorgeous navy coat brings to mind a similar outfit, which she rocked about a year ago, during her return trip from a Palm Beach resort where the first family enjoyed thanksgiving.

However, in addition to the colorful collars, she sported a pair of red leather gloves, and knee-high black leather boots as she walked beside her husband.
