Walt Harris Pens Emotional Tribute to Stepdaughter Aniah Blanchard after Her Remains Were Found in Alabama
Grieving stepfather Walt Harris speaks to his stepdaughter in a heartbreaking post. Her body was discovered lifeless a month after she went missing. Police have arrested three men in relation to her mysterious death.
After a month-long search for his missing stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, UFC fighter Walt Harris learned the painful truth of her death. Still reeling from the shock of what happened to Blanchard, Harris took to his Instagram to unload some of his grief and find strength in the memory of his beloved 19-year-old.
Blanchard’s death is now being investigated as a homicide after three people were arrested in relation to her mysterious death.

"DADDY JUST NEEDS TIME"
Harris shared a photo of a young Blanchard standing next to him as he expressed his gratitude for her and his sadness due to her loss.
“My sweet baby girl... I just wanna thank you for helping me change my life for the better... For teaching me how to be a man and a better father!For being my biggest fan win, lose , or draw! For always knowing what to say to put a smile on my face and lift me up when I was down and wanted to give up. You light up my world I’m so many ways.”
Harris continued by describing his pain as “unbearable.” He also acknowledged that Blanchard would want him to be strong but admitted it was hard. However, he promised to find a way.
“Right now nothing makes sense and I’m so lost. I just want you back,” the grieving stepfather writes. “I hope I made you proud... I’m gonna keep going daddy just needs time.”
His message ended by telling her he loved her and asking her to look after her family.
“We need you now more than ever. My lil mighty mighty tiger is a angel now. I love you baby girl forever and ever!”
BLANCHARD'S MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE
On October 24, Blanchard went missing. She was last seen at a gas station in Auburn, Alabama the day before. Days later her abandoned car was discovered 50 miles away at an apartment complex in Montgomery. Her blood was found in the car.
Harris pleaded for help the day Blanchard went missing but her body was only discovered a month after at a wooded area in Macon County.
According to People, Blanchard last communicated with her roommate the night before she went missing.
THE EVENTS THAT LED TO HER DEATH
Blanchard’s death is now being investigated as a homicide after three people were arrested in relation to her mysterious death. 22-year-old Ibraheem Yazeed was arrested in Florida and is being held without bond for charges of kidnapping. The two others were also charged with helping to dispose of evidence and obstructing the investigation. One of them was named, Antwain “Squirmy” Fisher, 35.
Yazeed’s arrest was aided by a man at the gas station’s convenience store where Blanchard was last seen. The man identified Yazeed and claimed he forced Blanchard to get into her car and drive away.
According to People, Blanchard last communicated with her roommate the night before she went missing. She told her roommate through Snapchat just before midnight that she was on her way home but later texted that she met a man named Eric.
Blanchard’s mother, Angela Harris, in an interview with ABC 33/40 spoke of her grief.
“She was my heart. Just her laughter and her smile, that’s what I’m going to miss the most. Just her happiness because she made life better for all of us.”
Blanchard’s cause of death remains undisclosed. Traces of a “life-threatening injury” were found when her body was recovered.
