WHEN LONI FORGETS

Loni opened up to Angela Yee on her podcast, “Lip Service” and revealed she would sometimes forget James was White. On some occasions when they’re apart and James would suddenly appear from nowhere, she would get disoriented. Loni explained,

“We’re out sometimes, say we get separated, Alex my assistant, he knows, James will wave and smile and I’m like ‘Who is that white man? Oh, that’s James!’”

But that’s not the only instance Loni forgets James doesn't share her race. She disclosed that this also happens in the bedroom when they’re having sex. She details that when her back is turned, she momentarily forgets.

ON HITTING IT OFF WITH JAMES

Loni, 48, and James, 55 have been dating since the fourth quarter of 2019 after meeting through a dating app in August and after James “ghosted” her. The talk show host admitted to People last year that she surprised herself when she hit it off with James even with him being White. Her previous relationships had all been with either Black or Hispanic men.

“It really doesn’t matter,” Loni said of their interracial pairing. “I’m the first African American woman he’s dated and he said he just didn’t think about it. It’s not a big deal. We get along, we like each other, we understand each other.”

ON MARRIAGE

Loni is grateful that James came into her life, a man she described last month as “my partner, best friend, and my designated driver!” However, when asked if they were headed to the altar, Loni hesitated.

“I don’t know. I always was a satisfied single,” she replied. Loni explained that she believes marriage is only for women who want to have children and she doesn’t. But she was quick to clarify that she isn’t closing her doors.

Loni is glad that her fans are happy about her relationship with James. She acknowledges the outpour of love the actor has been getting from them and they can't seem to get enough of him. We wish Loni and James well and look forward to their long future together as they prove that interracial relationships work.
