Television reality stars Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines have a beautiful family with a full house of five children. Here's everything to know about the Gaines.
In 2013, Chip and Joanna Gaines first showed up on the big screen as the married couple that starred in HGTV's "Fixer Upper" featuring them "fixing up," renovating and redecorating homes in the city of Waco in Texas.
Chip and Joanna had already formed a large fraction of the large family that they have now — they had four children, their daughters Ella Rose and Emmie Kay, and their sons Drake and Drew. They had an addition to their children, after the show.
After the show premiered, the ratings saw a good response and soon attracted a large audience willing to listen to and watch whatever the Gaines were up to with work and, of course, their rambunctious brood.
On May 31, 2003, Chip and Joanna tied the knot after a year of dating and moved in together in their Waco Home. And Drake was welcomed into the Gaines on May 4 in 2004.
Drake's immediate younger sister was Ella Rose, a beautiful baby girl that arrived on October 23, 2006. Their next kid, Duke, was born on May 23, 2008, and their last child, while they were still on the show, was Emmie Kay, born on February 1, 2010.
In January 2018, the reality star-studded family announced that they were expecting the fifth Gaines child. But his birth did not get to be featured on television. On April 3, 2018, the last episode of "Fixer Upper" was aired.
Chip and Joanna decided to retire to their privacy and focus on running their bustling business through which they own a large shopping complex in Waco, called "Magnolia Market."
The proud parents are very supportive of their kids and encourage them to be the best versions of themselves.
Their youngest son, Crew, was born late in June 2018. Excited and happy to have met her much-expected newborn, Joanna took to Instagram to announce his arrival.
The number of Gaines children had officially extended, and the once four-children home was now bustling with the cries of a newborn.
The new big brothers and sisters were over the moon with their baby brother's arrival and wasted no time getting attached to the infant.
Keeping a family of five kids sane and under control can hardly ever be passed off as easy. With the current global pandemic, staying quarantined at home for a long period has been interesting for the Gaines couple, to say the least.
Joanna told People that she and her hubby were doing great at keeping the kids occupied with projects, adding that the four older ones had started to show their interest and talents in different things that made them happy.
She said: "Drake loves the production side. Ella is still very much into design. Emmie, she reminds me a lot of me...the garden and cooking. And Duke, I can see him being a businessman."
The proud parents are very supportive of their kids and encourage them to be the best versions of themselves. On April 7, Joanna released her cookbook, "Magnolia Table, Volume 2," and the kids were a huge part of the effort put into it.
Despite having a full house with their five children, Chip still joked about having more kids, telling Joanna that he definitely imagined baby Crew having a younger woman sibling. Six Gaines Children? Now that would be the real fixer-upper.
