According to People Magazine, the post comes after the “Dish Nation” host announced on the radio during his morning show that his youngest daughter was shot multiple times over the 4th of July weekend on her way to get food at a restaurant in Houston.
Aaryn recounted the incident on her Instagram stories with two posts. One with a photo from the scene featuring her blood-stained passenger seat and the other from her hospital bed.
However, Smiley revealed that she was currently receiving treatment at the hospital even though she was scared, and surgery was underway.
The magazine reported that the Houston Police Department established that the victims of the shooting at the 6898 South Freeway were a woman and three men, who only suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to them, the three men were in a car at a stoplight when an unidentified vehicle drove by and began firing multiple shots, causing a stray bullet to hit the woman in a different vehicle.
USA Today reports that on her part, Aaryn recounted the incident on her Instagram story with two posts. One with a photo from the scene featuring her blood-stained passenger seat and the other from her hospital bed.
She shared that the bullets that would have hit her in the head could not pass through the car, but a few went through her legs.
Though admitting that she may not walk anytime soon due to nerve damage, she ended her emotive narrative expressing her gratitude. She wrote, "Words can't describe how grateful I am to be alive right now." The outlet added that the incident happened a few days after she celebrated her 19th birthday.
As reported by Bravo TV, Rickey took a flight to Houston to be with his daughter at the hospital. He, however, shared that due to safety precautions in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he would not be able to see her until she was transferred.
Some of Bravo TV's cast have sent their love and support for the Smiley family, including Rickey’s former co-host, Porsha Williams.
