Ben Stiller has had a successful career in his almost 34 years in Hollywood with significant roles in comedy movies and shows. However, it seems things could have gone differently for the renowned actor, thanks to a throwback clip's surface.
On Monday, October 19, Entertainment Tonight shocked fans when they shared a rare clip of a young Stiller auditioning for the role of Marty McFly in the iconic science fiction, "Back To the Future" on Instagram.

A young Stiller was seen in a short-sleeved wine and black polo shirt, sitting on a bench while he recited his lines during an awkward date with McFly's mother, Lorraine Baines, played by Lea Thompson. When asked by Lorraine why he feels nervous, Stiller responded, saying:
"Have you ever been, like, in a situation where ... well, you know you have to act a certain way, but when you get there, you're not sure you can really go through with it?"
The young actor nervously looked to the ground as he interacted with Lorraine. Unfortunately, Stiller didn't get the part. It eventually went to actor Michael J. Fox who embodied the character in all the sequels.
[Thompson] also commented on Stiller's audition making subtle jabs at him that he is still pissed at her for not getting the role.
Stiller's audition clip is part of "The Back To The Future: The Ultimate Trilogy" Blu-Ray collection, available on 4K Ultra and Amazon. It will also feature other auditions from A-listers in the industry, including Jon Cryer, Billy Zane, Peter DeLuise, and C. Thomas Howell.
The release of the Blu-Ray collection is to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the beloved franchise. In an interview with ET Online, Thompson spoke about how far the franchise has come and how thrilled she is to have been a part of it.
Thompson explained that she counted her time on the movie as a blessing and was grateful to even get the role of Lorraine to showcase her acting skills. She also commented on Stiller's audition making subtle jabs at him that he is still pissed at her for not getting the role.
Fox and Thompson are part of the stellar cast responsible for bringing the sci-fi to life, including Christopher Lloyd, Crispin Glover, Thomas Wilson, Claudia Wells, James Tolkan, and Marc McClure.
All of the cast members of "Back To The Future" have since flourished career-wise since the film's release, continuing in the path of excellence that endeared them to our hearts in the very first place.
