Here's What 'Today' Host Hoda Kotb, 56, Said about Parenting as She Gushed about the Experience
“Today” show host Hoda Kotb opened up about her parenting journey and gushed about how wonderful the experience has been for her with her two wonderful daughters, Hope Catherine and Hayley Joy.
Hoda Kotb has over 22 years of experience as a journalist and several accolades to her name, but of all her achievements, being a mother to her two daughters, Hope Catherine and Hayley Joy, takes the lead.
Since she started her motherhood journey in 2017, the “Today” show host hasn’t shied away from gushing about the beautiful experience of parenting. During a recent appearance on E! News Daily Pop, the 56-year-old spoke about her mom life during quarantine and how things have been so far.

When asked by the host if her girls were still as adorable and weren’t posing any troubles, Kotb explained that her oldest, Hayley, spent the night insisting that she slept in the new jeans her grandmother got her. While that might have been difficult, the show host admitted that she wouldn’t have it any other way. In her words:
“It’s been like the greatest adventure of my life that started at age 50. So, if you’re waiting for your adventure, hang on, it might be coming.”
The TV show host, however, was candid about the struggles of working from home and having two toddlers to take care of. She confessed that she has been trying to work on her patience, especially when her girls have tantrums and meltdowns.
[Kotb] disclosed that she and her fiance Joel Schiffman have already filed the paperwork to adopt a third child.
That hasn’t been the only difficulty the journalist has experience with motherhood as society hasn’t been so kind to her for finding joy at 50. Last week, she opened up about a spiteful letter she received from a troll. She explained that the hater slammed her for choosing to be a mother at such an old age and wrote about how she would be a senior citizen when they are in high school.
Kotb revealed that she tore the letter, but its details still haunt her as the troll wrote down one of her biggest fears. Regardless of the challenges and hurts associated with parenting, the journalist is more than happy to experience one more time as she plans on expanding her family.
During a recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” she disclosed that she and her fiance Joel Schiffman have already filed the paperwork to adopt a third child and her now leaving it in God’s hands.
The “Today with Hoda & Jenna” host said the decision to welcome another child was spontaneous for her and Schiffman as they believed there was room for more love in their hearts.
Fans may recall that Kotb became a mother for the first time in 2017 when she adopted Hayley on Valentine’s Day and Catherine in April 2019. The girls have brought a double dose of joy to their mother and, hopefully, that triples soon.
