Story of the Day: Man Decides to Skip Brother's Wedding Because His Wife Isn't Invited

In his post on Reddit, the man explained that there is no problem in his relationship with his brother. The reason why his wife was not invited to the wedding because she and his brother's fiancée hate one another.

According to the Reddit poster, his brother's fiancée has always been somewhat childish and she never rightly dealt with confrontation. He described her as "opinionated" and "needy."

The man explained that his wife suffered from depression a few years back. One day, his brother's fiancée commented on one of his wife's family members, which was rude.

"Fueled by uncontrolled emotions, my wife decided to tell her off, calling her out on her childishness and phony behavior," he wrote. Both his wife and his brother's fiancée exchanged some cruel words.

Although he understood that his better half wasn't right to blow up and begin the contention, the man said that he would lie if he said he was not happy that somebody finally put his brother's fiancée in her proper place.

Luckily, his good relationship with his brother was not affected by their fight, the man shared. Meanwhile, he said that his wife got over the quarrel immediately.

She hates his brother's fiancée, yet she wanted to be friendly for his sake, the man explained. However, his brother's fiancée still does not want to move on, and she is still mad at his wife.

The women would see one another at family gatherings, and they would totally ignore each other at first. A few months later, the man said that they would briefly talk to each other if needed.

As expected, his brother's fiancée said she wanted no part of his wife in her life.

A few more months passed, and they could be in the same discussion within a group. However, his brother's fiancée would deliberately make a special effort not to include his wife.

According to the man, his wife would try to talk to his brother's fiancée, but the latter would completely ignore her. In fact, she would show everybody in the room a picture but would skip over his wife, he explained.

His brother's fiancée would also invite him to their house for parties, but she would tell him that his wife was not invited. The man said that he had not attended a party or event at his brother's house since.

Six months later, the man said that his better half reached out to his brother's fiancée, asking her to move on, so a rift would not be created in the family.

As expected, his brother's fiancée said she wanted no part of his wife in her life. Somehow, the man said that he and his brother have still been able to hang out and talk to each other.

One day, his brother had asked him to be a co-best man alongside their other brother. Of course, he agreed right away. But when he found out that his wife was not invited to their wedding, the man said that he decided not to attend because he's no longer interested, knowing that his wife was not invited.
