Phylicia Rashad's Ex-husband Ahmad Has a New Wife Named Ana Luz – Check Out Their Sweet New Year's Pic Together

Former football player Ahmad Rashad, who was married to actress Phylicia Rashad for nearly 16 years, posed with his current wife Ana during a New Year’s Eve party.

On January 1, 2021, Ana Luz Rodriguez-Paz took to Instagram to share a two-image slideshow next to her famous husband, Ahmad Rashad and they looked like a match made in heaven.

The first picture was a selfie, where Ana appeared flashing her beautiful smile at the camera while wearing oversized and shiny sunglasses. Ahmad, right next to her, had a more serious facial expression.

Still, the sportscaster seemed to be in the party spirit as he was wearing mirrorball glasses and a hat. In the second image, the couple’s stunning outfits could be seen in detail.

Ahmad opted for a long-sleeved, light blue shirt and black, white, and golden necklaces, while Ana wore a backless and sleeveless light blue dress that featured a deep neckline.

Ana and Ahmad definitely look beautiful, but she is not his first wife. In fact, Ana, a psychologist, is his fifth. Ahmad’s most famous partner was “Cosby” star Phylicia Rashad.

Ahmad had to wait until halftime to know if she’d accept his proposal.

The former football player proposed to Phylicia, his third wife who portrayed Clair Huxtable in the previously mentioned show, in a very unusual way that will forever be remembered by an entire generation.

Ahmad was in Pontiac, Michigan, where the Detroit Lions were welcoming the New York Jets for their annual Thanksgiving Day game. He was not playing but hosting NBC’s “NFL ’85.”

At one point, he said he was in love with Phylicia, who was at the Macy’s Day Parade in New York, and right in front of the cameras, he said, “Phylicia, would you marry me?”

Ahmad (and the people watching the game) had to wait until halftime to know if she’d accept his proposal. An intern escorted Phylicia to the show’s studio, and she said “yes,” fortunately.

The former couple tied the knot in December 1985, and, after having a child together, they divorced in 2001. Before Phylicia, he was married to Deidre Waters and Matilda Johnson.

In 2007, six years after divorcing Phylicia, Ahmad married Sale Johnson. They parted ways in 2013, though. Now, it seems like the retired football player found “the one” in Ana.

They tied the knot in April 2016 in Palm Beach County. One of the most striking aspects of their romance is that she is three decades younger than him. Still, they look beautiful together!
