Nikki Bella and Fiancé Artem Chigvintsev Are in Therapy — Here's Why
Retired professional wrestler Nikki Bella spoke out recently about going to therapy with her fiancé, Artem Chigvintsev, for them to have a stronger relationship.
In the January 26 episode of the "Off the Vine" podcast, Nikki Bella told Kaitlyn Bristowe that one of the reasons they're seeing a professional is that Artem Chigvintsev always gets in a serious mood.
"When he gets stressed, he doesn't realize his tone. We're actually in therapy for this," explained Bella, who gave birth to the couple's first child, son Matteo, on July 31, 2020.

Bella remembered butting heads with Chigvintsev over his extra-strict approach to training. According to her, he commented on her "jive," and he got furious at her.
She noted that his tone sometimes led her to think he was mad at her during dress rehearsals. Bella and Chigvintsev started dating in January 2019. They got engaged a year later.

Previously, Bella talked to Us Weekly about going to therapy when Chigvintsev finishes "Dancing With the Stars." After feeling they weren't listening to each other, they realized they needed help.
Bella and Chigvintsev discussed the future of their son Matteo in the event of a split.
Bella admitted that, at first, she hid her emotions after becoming a mother. However, she said that after she opened up to Chigvintsev, things began to change for the better.
Meanwhile, Bella also revealed in the January 28 episode of "Total Bellas" that she didn't tell Chigvintsev about her struggle with postpartum depression at first.
Bella told her sister Brie that she didn't tell Chigvintsev about it because she didn't want to stress him out while he is in such good spirits. Bella emphasized that the postpartum wasn't time for conversation.
In December, Bella and Chigvintsev discussed the future of their son Matteo in the event of a split. The dancer said he felt more likely to have the child because Bella travels so much.
Chigvintsev then expressed his desire to do the best for Matteo, and Bella agreed. However, in a later conversation, he noted that they shouldn't make a custody plan ahead of a possible split.
Meanwhile, the couple quickly agreed that Brie and Daniel Bryan should fill the role of godparents to their son. Chigvintsev said that the choice is an excellent one.
