The actress was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1938. She married her first husband when she was only 16 and had her son, Andrew Stevens, a year later.

She had her start with the musical "Say One for Me" in 1959, a few years after divorcing her husband. She also starred in the film "Li'l Abner," which she considered her real break into the movie business. At the time, the publicity expert wanted to turn Stella into a sex symbol.

Andrew opened up about his mother's last days, saying she had been in the hospice for "quite some time." Stella had been checked into the care facility a few years ago after her Alzheimers had progressed to an advanced stage. At the time, the actress still had her partner taking care of her.

Stella had been in a relationship with the guitarist Bob Kulick before she went to live in the hospice. The two were together for years before Kulick checked her into the facility, and even when he did, he couldn't bear to leave her there alone. Instead, Kulick went to visit her whenever he had the chance.

The guitarist ensured she wasn't lonely, even when her disease meant she often forgot details about her own life. Kulick kept visiting her until he passed away in May 2020. After his death, his brother, Bruce Kulick, made a statement saying he would be sorely missed. When Stella died, he did the same for her.

Stella once reflected on her life, saying she tried to do her best to provide for herself and her son. She famously despised starring in "Girls! Girls! Girls!" and explained why she worked for Playboy, "I did the best I could with the tools I had and the opportunities given me."

Her Son and Grandkids Follow in Her Footsteps

Stella left behind her son and several grandkids. Andrew decided to follow in his mother's footsteps. He made a name for himself with the film "The Whole Nine Yards" and its sequel but has branched out into producing and directing in recent years. He now serves as CEO of Andrew Stevens Entertainment and Stevens Entertainment Group.

Andrew has been married numerous times and shares three children with his second wife, Robyn Suzanne Scott, although little is known about most of them. However, one of Andrew's daughters, Aubrey Stevens, decided to go into the family trade, making her debut in the film "One Nightmare Stand."

Aubrey has gotten many more roles since starting her career, including the film "Send It!" with many experienced actors. She has starred in a total of 7 films, having started acting in high school. Her most recent role was that of Lilly in the 2022 film "Pursuit." Her most well-known film is "An Organized Killer," according to IMDb.

While Aubrey is working on her acting career, her father is excelling at making movies. Andrew has an impressive 180 films to his name, which he either produced, directed, or financed. He also produced films for Warner Brothers under the label Franchise Pictures from 1997 to 2002.
