John Stamos ‘Hated’ Ex-wife Rebecca Romjin While He Felt ‘Emasculated’ during Their Marriage

John Stamos reveals he hated his ex-wife Rebecca Romijn while promoting his new memoir. The action star felt emasculated during their marriage, which ultimately ended in divorce.

John Stamos just released his new memoir "If You Would Have Told Me," which speaks about both his professional and personal lives. In several interviews, he's opened up about his painful divorce from his first wife, Rebecca Romijn, mincing no words.

When he married Romijn, he could have never imagined their union ending the way it did. When things started to unfold, he couldn't help but admit his ill feelings towards his ex-wife.

"In my mind back then, she was the devil, and I just hated her. I couldn't believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life."

During that time, Romijn's career took off while Stamos' was stagnant. It was the cause of their divorce, and it humiliated the action star. Romijn suddenly outgrew her spouse, and it "emasculated" him.

His healing process after that wasn't healthy. He drank alcohol to no end, and that's what led him to Alcoholics Anonymous, where they made him realize that the reason for their marriage ending wasn't all on Romijn. He played a part, too.

Ultimately, going through such a tough time in his life led him to pull himself together finally. He got his career back on track, and it allowed him to meet his lovely wife, Caitlin McHugh.

Stamos married McHugh in 2018. They share a son named Billy, who has been a significant part of his memoir-writing journey.

When Stamos' memoir was released, Romijn's current husband, Jerry O'Connell, admitted they never got a heads-up about it. They found out just like everybody else that a memoir would mention his wife, and he shared he wasn't in any place to speak about it publicly.

Recently, the Stamos family was spotted at his memoir launch. Little Billy sported a printed outfit to the affair, and they were all smiles as they posed for pictures.
