Fans Claim Dad Ruined Gender Reveal Reacting to His Kid’s Words to Granny

Gender reveals have become a well-known and sometimes fun way to announce a child's gender to friends and family. However, such memorable events don't always go according to plan.

In the past, expecting mothers announced their baby's gender as soon as they found out or waited until the baby was born for it to be a surprise. However, over the past couple of years, things have changed.

There's now a trend where people feel that the revelation of their baby's sex needs to come with a lot of fanfare. Not everyone does an elaborate reveal, but for some who do, it could go horribly wrong.

Now, imagine you've planned something small to share the sex of your baby with loved ones, but someone in the know unintentionally messes it up. That's exactly what happened in the following story.

In March 2023, a TikToker with the username lauryn2x took to the platform to share a clip of an older woman sitting on a living room couch surrounded by what appeared to be her two grandchildren. The same video was uploaded on Reddit's FacePalm sub under the username No_Contribution2112.

In the clip, a round box was placed in front of the woman while the expectant father explained the significance of the box. He revealed that it would reveal whether the baby was a boy or a girl.

The grandmother asked what was going to happen, while the baby's mother behind the camera tried to keep the mystery by simply answering, "Something." Simultaneously, the youngest child kept touching the box while the older one stood next to their grandmother and hilariously said:

"It's a blue balloon."

Upon hearing this, the man started shouting at the child named Troy for revealing the surprise. The older woman looked in the man's direction as she removed the lid of the box, processing what happened. Meanwhile, the youngest child looked around at everyone, trying to figure out what had gone wrong.

The woman taking the video began laughing, while little Troy broke down in tears as he realized he had done something wrong. Finally, the grandmother dropped the lid and opened the box to reveal pieces of blue paper inside, noting:

"We're having a boy."

The clip quickly cuts off as Troy goes off-camera, seemingly to be consoled by his irate parent. Social media users had a lot to say about how the gender reveal went wrong, and others even shared their own stories.

The clip generated a lot of comments, particularly concerning the father's reaction. Several TikTok users thought "the dad gave it away," while someone else noted that if he hadn't gotten so upset, they wouldn't even have noticed that the child gave it away. Another person pitied the little child, who only spoke out of excitement.
