23-Year-Old YouTuber Marries His Friend's 75-Year-Old Mom to Prove a Point

Some pranks are fun, but others can go too far, like the one by famous YouTuber David Dobrik. The content creator actually took his friend's comment about never getting married as a dare and got revenge, most excitingly!

Since social media became a thing, many people have made money creating content for it. One such person is David Dobrik, a famous YouTuber with over 17 million subscribers on his channel. In May 2019, he uploaded a fascinating clip.

He explained that it was made so he could prove a point to his friend. In the video, the 23-year-old was seen driving while accompanied by friends. Speaking to the person next to him, Dobrik joked that his ex-wife's children loved their mother's new boyfriend more than him.

The best friend, Jason, said it was crazy to think Dobrik would never have an ex-wife because no one would ever marry him. The YouTuber laughed, reacted badly to the comment, and promised his friend that he would regret the statement.

Three hours after Jason's comment, Dobrik returned with an update. While traveling with other people, the social media user explained to his passengers that he was flying to Boston to propose to Jason's mother so he could become his stepfather!

His passengers couldn't believe what they heard and wished to know if he was serious about it. Dobrik explained he was and had planned to marry his friend's mother in Las Vegas before they honeymooned in Hawaii. In a series of pictures, he was seen taking a flight, and next thing he was in Boston, with him confessing:

"I can't sleep. I'm so excited!"

He laughed as he contemplated the thought that he would be engaged soon. Next, Dobrik knocked at Jason's mother's door while holding a bouquet of flowers. When she opened the door, she was thrilled to see him but wondered why he was in her city.

Lorraine Charlotte Nash, 75, was utterly confused as she sat on a couch with Dobrik, holding the flowers he had bought her. Using her full name, the Youtuber went down on one knee and presented a ring before asking Nash to marry him.

The older woman asked him, "Are you out of your mind?" That's when he decided to hilariously explain to her that he wished to become Jasons's stepfather. Nash noted that it would be "hysterical" before Dobrik revealed that their flight leaves in three hours.

Jason's mother was keen on the prank, and the next thing we saw was her and Dobrik on their way to Las Vegas! As she climbed a limousine in Las Vegas, the YouTuber introduced her as his soon-to-be wife. The pair actually went through with the wedding, complete with a white dress and veil for Nash!

The hilarious part is that they actually went to Hawaii and had fun on their honeymoon! In one scene, Nash shared how she felt like she'd been married to Dobrik for 50 years and hadn't done any of the things they did before. Dobrik then asked some friends if they knew Nash, and they all said she was Jason's mother.

He corrected them by letting them know she was his wife and even produced a marriage certificate as proof. The 23-year-old then confronted his best friend with the shocking news. All Jason could do when he saw the legal papers was to clap, congratulate him, shake his hand, and welcome him to the family!

Dobrik made it worse by continuously calling Jason his "son." Nash's son insisted she should've said no to the proposal. Then another friend jokingly asked "Mrs. Dobrik" if Jason could come out and play, and Nash responded while laughing hysterically:

"Ask his father."

The YouTube clip got the media's attention, and Dobrik was invited to a famous talk show to address his wedding to Nash. During that appearance, the YouTuber explained what happened to his marriage.

During a January 2020 "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" appearance, Dobrik discussed the video with Nash that got 14 million views. He revealed that the wedding and honeymoon occurred over three to four days without Jason knowing.

Nash's son thought Dobrik had gone away for work during that period. When Jimmy Fallon asked the YouTuber if he was still married to his wife, he revealed he wasn't. He revealed that it took him six months to get the marriage annulled because of all the paperwork and lawyers involved.

Dobrik explained that his YouTube channel was his and his 20 friends' way of finding new ways to have fun daily. He said they ran out of things to do most of the time and decided to find creative ways to enjoy themselves.
