A mother visited her daughter at what seemed to be an Airbnb. The visit turned into a sweet surprise when the mother saw a familiar picture on the wall of the house. The mother became emotional upon realizing what was really going on.

Nyomi Jackson shared on TikTok how she surprised her mother, Wanda Fields, and sister, Nia, in 2023. Nyomi, who has a son, narrated this incident as part of a look into her journey to home ownership.

The TikToker's video showed her mother getting into a house, which she assumed was an Airbnb. Moreover, Nyomi informed her mother and sister that they planned to stay in an Airbnb with the extended family to celebrate Wanda's birthday.

Consequently, when Wanda arrived at the residence, she immediately thought it was the Airbnb that had been chosen for the occasion. However, upon venturing into the house, she soon recognized the divider she had given Nyomi years prior and commented about its familiarity.

Wanda's suspicion heightened when she noticed an elephant painting that Nyomi had owned for over a decade. Upon seeing the surprise on her mom and sister's face, Nyomi told them, "It's my house." Nyomi later explained that the elephant was a "dead giveaway. Its like part of the family at this point."

Nyomi's mom was so emotional that she kept calling out her daughter's name in disbelief. The mom cried as she hugged her daughter when it dawned on her that the apparent Airbnb was Nyomi's own house.

In the TikTok video, which has amassed over half a million likes, Nyomi shared that she purchased the house in Jacksonville, Florida. However, she mentioned that it took her a year to complete all the necessary details and transform her vision into reality.

When the moment finally arrived, she decided to play a little prank on her mom and sister. The duo mistakenly thought they were checking into an Airbnb rental home, unaware that it was actually Nyomi's recently acquired residence. Nyomi had moved into her new home three weeks before her mom and sister came from Virginia and were surprised and happy to find out that she was a homeowner.

Wanda cried tears of joy in her daughter's new home. Buying a house was a big deal for Nyomi, her mother, and her sister because of how they were raised. Nyomi disclosed these details on Good Morning America. Wanda brought up Nyomi and her two sisters singlehandedly in a one-bedroom apartment in New York City.

Nyomi added that her mother had incorporated into her and her sisters the benefits of having a vision in life. She revealed that Wanda had said, "When you have a vision, move toward it, move toward it relentlessly." Now, Nyomi was happy that her dreams had come true. She noted, "I knew I had a vision of my family being in my house."

Prior to her sister and mom coming to this home, Nyomi had posted a video on TikTok showing her one-year journey to home ownership. She described the process as difficult, amid tears. But when she finally closed, she noted that everything hard she had gone through was going to be worth it when she saw the look on her mother's face the day Wanda found out about her daughter's home.

Wanda was proud and happy for her daughter when the secret was eventually revealed. Nyomi explained that she had kept everything secretive for a year because it was essential for her to share her new home with her family, as a unit, especially her mother. "I just needed them to realize the full vision all at once. And so…based on my mom's reaction, I think I did a pretty good job," she added.

Over the year, as she built her house, she would visit every Sunday with her son to see the progress. Anytime her mom would call, she would answer in a closet. Nyomi would take calls in small areas so that her mother couldn't hear an echo.

Wanda never suspected anything was going on. So, she was excited when she finally saw her daughter's house. The TikTok video Nyomi shared also makes Wanda happy. The mom read the comments and saw how everyone celebrated her daughter without a single negative comment. "It just touches me, and it just makes me happy. It makes me cry," she gushed.
