At approximately 1:35 p.m., he was escorted back to the locker room by a rules official, and emergency personnel were seen arriving at the Riviera Country Club shortly thereafter. The health scare prompted a flurry of speculation and concern among onlookers.
Addressing these concerns, Rob McNamara, Executive Vice President of TGR Ventures, shed light on Woods' condition on the same day. McNamara revealed that Woods had been battling flu-like symptoms since the night before, which had intensified by the morning of the event.

Despite an initial improvement during warm-up, Woods began to feel dizzy while playing. "The doctors are saying he’s got some — potentially some type of flu and that he was dehydrated," McNamara explained, adding that Woods was being treated with an IV bag and was expected to recover swiftly. He also clarified that the situation was not related to any physical injuries, saying, "Not physical at all, his back’s fine."
Woods himself took to social media the following day, February 17, to share an update on his health status and express his regret over the withdrawal. "I am resting and feeling better," Woods stated, confirming the diagnosis of influenza.
He extended his gratitude to Genesis USA, and his fans for their support, and wished the remaining players luck for the weekend. "I’m disappointed to not be there," he added, highlighting his frustration at missing out on the competition.
Tiger Woods' prompt withdrawal and subsequent updates provide a reminder of the importance of prioritizing health over competition. Woods' situation brings to light the challenges athletes face and the swift actions taken to ensure their well-being, highlighting the ever-present importance of health in the competitive world of sports.

While it was undoubtedly a wonderful sight to see Tiger with his kid, fans couldn't help but point out Sam's strong resemblance to her parents, calling her their "spitting image. "A beautiful combination of Mom and Dad," one said. Another commenter claimed Sam looked more like Tiger's ex-wife but only with a darker complexion.
Born on Father's Day in 2007, Sam Alexis is Tiger's daughter with Elin Nordegren. Shortly after her birth, the athlete revealed the meaning behind his daughter's name, which had ties to his late father.

Tiger's dad had given him the moniker Sam since birth because the older Woods found it more fitting. In tribute to Tiger's father, he named his then-newborn Sam. He also shared a glimpse of fatherhood at that time, saying that priorities in his life have since changed.
