Elizabeth Hurley's Son Damian, 24, Sparks Buzz with 'Strange' Look During Appearance with His Mother, Joan Collins, Percy Gibson and Billy Ray — Photos
The longtime model's only child turned heads at a star-studded dinner with Joan Collins, Percy Gibson and Billy Ray Cyrus — but it was his outfit choice that had people talking.
Something about the photos Joan Collins posted on Wednesday evening stopped people mid-scroll — and it wasn't just the celebrity company.

Joan, 92, shared a carousel of snapshots from a glamorous dinner at Simpson's in the Strand, tagging actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, Elizabeth's son Damian Hurley, and country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus.
"Super evening," she wrote. "Never stopped laughing!" The emojis alone suggested an unforgettable night. But buried in the comments section, something else was unfolding entirely.

The first image was cheerful enough — Joan, radiant in black, beaming beside Billy, all long hair and rock-star charm. Fans lapped it up. Then came the second photo.
There's Elizabeth, stunning as ever. Beside her, Joan's husband Percy Gibson, all warmth and smiles. And then there's Damian — laughing freely, looking every bit the young creative he's become — dressed in a sheer black lace top that immediately sent the comments into overdrive.

"Strange choice of top for Damian," one viewer remarked plainly. Another was more blunt, "What's going off with her son in a lady's blouse 👚?" Someone else quipped with barely concealed bewilderment, "What is this kid wearing?"
One commenter didn't mince words, sneering, "That Damien in a women's blouse, he is very feminine." Another piled on, "Get a job son and find your own friends and tribe! — and stop wearing lace! You'll have more of a sense of yourself!"

Not everyone was harsh, though. One observer noted with amusement, "Elizabeth's daughters top is lovely [sic]," while another teased affectionately, "Too pretty to be a boy 😂."
Whether the lace top was a bold fashion statement or simply a young man wearing what he likes, Damian didn't seem to lose any sleep over it — he was too busy laughing.

A Mother Like No Other
Damian's ease in the spotlight, and perhaps his comfort in his own skin, owes much to the woman beside him. Raised primarily by Elizabeth as a single mother after a complicated start with his late father Steve Bing, Damian has spoken warmly about the bond they share.
"Mum filled the role of 800 parents at the same time," he told German show Exclusiv. "We are so close. Sometimes like siblings."

Elizabeth, now 60, conceived Damian during a brief relationship with Steve, the American businessman and film producer. Steve initially contested paternity and was notably absent from Damian's life.
A DNA test later confirmed his biological fatherhood, but the pair are thought to have never met before Steve's death in June 2020. Damian also has a half-sister, Kira Bonder, whom Bing fathered with American tennis player Lisa Bonder — a relationship Steve similarly contested.

Both Damian and Kira were cut out of Steve's will while Elizabeth was still pregnant, after Steve signed a document stating it was his intention not to provide for any child he may have fathered, whether born or unborn. The move earned him the nickname "Bing Laden" in the British press.
Yet the full picture of Steve as a father is more complicated than the headlines suggested. According to a Daily Mail investigation, Steve had in fact been financially supporting Damian via a trust fund from the moment he was born.

More remarkably, in the months before his death, he fought his own father, Dr Peter Bing, in court to ensure that both Damian and Kira would not be excluded from the family's grandchildren trusts — trusts Peter had attempted to modify on the grounds that the children were born out of wedlock.
A judge ruled in Steve and Elizabeth's favour, and both Damian and Kira are expected to inherit several million pounds each from those trusts in due course. Steve also reportedly wrote final letters to both children before taking his own life.
Despite the painful circumstances, Damian has spoken about his upbringing without bitterness. Growing up wasn't always easy, though — particularly in London, where the British tabloid press made even ordinary mornings feel like an ordeal.
"Every single morning on the school run there'd be 40 men camped outside the house screaming," Damian recalled in a recent interview. "I remember it very clearly and it was horrific."

He described how he and his mother recently stumbled across old footage of that time.
"We both seized up and broke out into a cold sweat, which is very not us. We were both shocked at how much it affected us seeing it again," he shared.

The Father Figures Who Shaped Him
For all the complexity surrounding his biological father, Damian found a paternal presence elsewhere. His mother's high-profile engagement to Australian cricket legend Shane Warne — the pair dated from 2010 to 2013 — gave Damian a father figure during some of his most formative years.
When Shane died suddenly from a heart attack in March 2022, aged 52, Damian's tribute was quietly devastating. "SW was a father figure to me for most of my formative years and was truly one of the best men I've ever known," he wrote on Instagram alongside a carousel of childhood photos with Shane. "My heart is broken."
As for Steve, whose death Damian publicly acknowledged on the one-year anniversary in 2021, the young filmmaker was measured and thoughtful, acknowledging the weight of grief even for a relationship that never truly got off the ground.
"I didn't realise at the time quite how much it would affect me," he wrote. "It's not weak to struggle. In fact, to get through to the other side is immensely strong."
Finding His Own Path
Now 24, Damian is forging ahead as a filmmaker and model, stepping out from behind his famous mother's considerable shadow — though clearly still very much in her orbit, judging by Wednesday's dinner. The Joan Collins crowd, the laughter, the lace top: all very much Damian, unapologetically so.
And if the comments section has anything to say about it, people are still watching.
