Mom takes photo of military son before waiter says something about woman in the background
Being kind is definitely one of the most understandable and inspiring modern day trends, and we’re happy that people everywhere are all aboard.
Whether you buy someone’s coffee in the Starbucks drive through or you anonymously cover someone’s tab at the bar, paying it forward is a selfless gesture that lets someone know you’re thinking about them.
The Armed Forces are, sure enough, a challenge, and having a son or daughter who is in the Armed Forces is both amazing and equally if not more so challenging in every way, especially about their safety and longevity.
When this young lad joined the U.S. Army, his mother knew the time had come for her to ‘let go.’ When the young soldier was granted time off, his mother planned to treat him to his favorite dish. What they didn’t expect was that they would both be treated to lunch by a stranger.
According to Liftable, Gavin Almond was doing his basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia, and his mother, Heather, was extremely proud of him. Heather admires her son’s decision to be a part of the U.S. military, and she wants her son to be successful in life.
Just like any proud mother, she took her son out to lunch close by at a sushi restaurant; Heather estimated that their bill would come up to be more than $100, but when she asked for the check something completely unexpected happened.
The waitress revealed that a nearby table had already paid for their entire check. The people who had paid for their meal had already left by that time, but the table had a message for their family: They wanted to thank the young man for his service.
“They were gone before I found this out, but I happened to snap a picture of my son that had one of the people in the background. I don’t know who she is, but I can tell you that it meant the world to us. We will find a way to pay it forward.”

They saw that Gavin was a young soldier in uniform and they expressed their admiration and appreciation for the family by paying it forward without expecting anything in return.
The strangers didn't need to get involved, but they recognized Gavin was spending a rare moment with his family in between basic training courses and wanted to help. Beyond any doubt, this moment is one that Gavin's family will remember forever.
Despite what you may hear or read, there still are many good people in this world, it is just of matter of looking for them. Share this story to keep the kindness flowing and bless those around you today.
