Drinking water first thing after one wakes up in the morning has many health advantages, some of which are presented below:

1. Convenience

In the mornings, the stomach is completely empty and a glass of water will not hinder the digestion process. Many people drink water during the meals, which has its own shares of negatives as it can dilute digestive juices and upset stomach.

Our stomach produces hydrochloric acid to burn and digest the food. During the mornings, our stomach is empty, so it is more likely to occur heartburn because of overproduction of the acid than what is really required.

Drinking water first thing in the morning will relieve your heartburn as it will reduce the level of acidity in your stomach.
