A child-rapist announced his hideous crime on social media, and at first, no-one believed him.

When a man posted on Facebook claiming that he had raped a 5-year-old child, Police discounted it as a hoax.

Then the Roane County Sheriff’s Office started getting horrified messages and calls, asking them to investigate and take action.

The man had made similar claims on the social media sites of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Brian Gunn, 30, was then arrested by the Police for filing a false report, as he had claimed that he had killed the victim and wanted to tell police where they could find her body.

The investigators believed Gunn had fabricated the claims to get the attention of law enforcement for the purpose of protesting the presidential elections, reported People.com on the 27th of February 2018.

“I raped a 5 year old girl and can’t get the cops to come get me. I feel awful can you help me turn myself in?”

Brian Gunn, People.com, 27th of February 2018.

The detectives investigating the case started finding kernels of truth in the middle of Gann’s story, and then he provided the Police with the names of the children he had raped.

Police interviewed the alleged victims, who confirmed Gunn's attacks. He has now been indicted on 13 criminal counts: six counts of child rape, three counts of harassment, one count of aggravated stalking and three counts of retaliation for past action.

Gann is being held on a $194,998 bond since Oct. 11, 2017. His victims are cooperating with the prosecutors and will probably be testifying against Gunn in court.

What pleas Gann will submit to the court on the charges laid against him, and who will be representing him is still not known.
