This little Tahitian dancer became quite a rage on social media when her aunt posted a video of her performance.

Vaihere was just 22 months old when the video was recorded and shared on YouTube by Junessa Hinarapa Cabral.

The video of her performance was uploaded on February 25, 2015. Shanelle Giene Vaihere is seen with a yellow skirt and a black top in what seems like a studio.

The little one is seen shaking her hips, just like a Tahitian dancer, to the beats of drums. Another video of Cabral was uploaded a few months later.

The one-minute-long video has the little one dancing with the other students of Tahitoa Productions, LLC.

Cabral is surrounded by four older girls, Tamari’I Tahitoa students doing the Tahitian dance. She begins the dance with a turn and then begins her solo performance while the other dancers sit around to watch

She seems to be passionate about dancing and rehearses at a Polynesian dance school in Tamuning, Guam.

The traditional Tahitian dance originates in Tahiti, the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia. The island is located in the central Southern Pacific Ocean.

The dance is characterized by a rapid hip-shaking motion and grass skirts to the accompaniment of percussion instruments. There is no singing and the only music that is made is through drums at a fast rhythm.

Traditionally, it existed as a male dance, while the hura was a dance for women.

Dancers could make gestures enacting daily occupations of life and for the men, the themes can be chosen from warfare or sailing.

Women choose themes closer to home or nature, for example, combing their hair or the flight of a butterfly.

An instance of a more elaborate theme can be where the dancers end up in a map of Tahiti and highlight important places.
