Lionel Richie's ex-wife stuns in off-the-shoulder wedding dress in flashback pic

Lionel Richie and his daughter Sofia are widely known to the public, the first for being one of the most famous singers of our time, and the second for her relationship with Scott Disick. However, Diane Richie, Sofia’s mom and Lionel’s ex-has been off the radar after her expensive divorce from the singer.

Celebritist learned from Miles Richie’s Instagram account that his mother was a beautiful bride the day she decided to tie the knot with Lionel Richie after being together for 12 years. The 23-years-old handsome man shared a photo in order to congratulate Diane on Mother’s Day.

She was certainly a beautiful bride as she shared her special day with her then two-year-old son, as she rocked an off the shoulder elegant gown that we’re sure had Lionel swooning over her at the time.

The former couple started their romance as an affair because Richie was married to Brenda Richie when they first began dating.

Lionel’s first wife even caught him on an intimate encounter with Diana, which prompted the woman to attack him, earning her an investigation for spousal abuse, trespassing, and vandalism. The charges were dropped later and Lionel and Brenda divorced in 1991, a year before he and Diane started to live together.

Diane is the mother of two of Lionel’s kids, Sofia Richie, known for her career as a model and her relationship with Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, and Miles Richie, who also has a career in the modeling industry.

Even though Lionel and Diane lived happily together for seven years, she filed for divorce in 2003 citing irreconcilable differences and asking for at least $300,000 in monthly spousal support payments. The woman based her request on the fact that she never had to worry about money while being married, and that she was used to having a lavish life.

In documents obtained from the court, she stated in detail all the expenses she made monthly, including over $15,000 in clothing, shoes, and accessories, $3000 in dermatology treatments, $1000 for laser hair removal, $600 in massages, $5000 in jewelry and $500 on vitamins. She also added a hefty sum of $20,000 annually for plastic surgery.

Their divorce is considered one of the most expensive among celebrities, and Lionel was ordered to pay about $20 million in the end.

Despite their separation, Sofia and Miles are very close to both of their parents, and we can tell Miles is especially fond of his mom for the amount of photo he shares from his childhood, making emphasis on the fact that he has always been a “mama’s boy.”

Diane still looks amazing and she raised to talented and beautiful kids, so we’re sure she’s proud of them.
