Doctor shares in network 'urgent' case: paranoid mother tried to 'save life' of her daughter
The publication of the physician allowed other professionals to talk about their own experience.
According to a Te Suena report, on May 28, 2018, the Spanish doctor Miguel Díaz, told his colleagues about an unusual case he had to attend in the emergency room of a hospital in Malaga.
While most people know how to distinguish what is a medical emergency from what is not, there are also others who don’t have the concept very clear and decide to go to the specialists when there is no reason for it.
Each parent brings the upbringing of their children individually, and although they may do so influenced by the same way they were raised, the responsibility to offer the best to their children is a burden over their shoulders.
The parenting style, along with the child experiences and personal traits, are what define a person in their adult life, that’s why childhood is considered the most important stage for the proper training of an individual.
Although it is logical to want to protect a child, there are limits that must be taken into account when limiting their actions. Our resolutions could only be hiding the desire to keep them safe, and it can lead to overprotection.

Overprotection, in the long term, ends up affecting negatively the little ones, since it not only reduces their safety but also limits their experiences and the falls necessary to learn a variety of skills.

Doctor Miguel Díaz showed what an overprotective mother is capable of doing by sharing this story:
‘A 9-year-old girl who is eating ice cream drops a little in her hand while playing in the park. And he has sucked his hand. The mother has brought it because it may be that that dirty hand contains something bad. OUR SOCIETY IS CRAZY,’ he wrote.

The mother, who was genuinely worried about her daughter being sick, told the doctor that while she was in the park, a piece of ice cream fell on her arm and the little girl licked it, so she suspected that she might have acquired a virus.

The publication of the doctor, not only surprised his followers but generated a cascade of comments from the general public and various professionals expressing their opinions and their own similar anecdotes.
