Thomas Markle revealed to TMZ that he had an emotional experience watching his daughter, Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry on his television in California while recovering from his health issues.

He sadly wasn't able to be at his daughter's side during the wedding because had checked himself into the hospital due to a heart attack.

He had initially left the hospital to attend the wedding but then got re-admitted because of chest pains. He was told he had to stay in the hospital for an operation, which turned out to be successful

So he wasn't able to fulfill his duty of walking his daughter down the aisle, a role which was then taken over by Meghan's father-in-law, Prince Charles.

As Thomas watched the entire event unfold on his TV, he felt "emotional and joyful," as reported by TMZ. Although, he was left wishing he could've gone to the event.

"My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness," he further told the news source.

Despite Thomas's absence, Meghan did have the company of her mother, Doria Ragland, on her special day, who drove to the Windsor Castle along with her.

Ragland also received a lot of attention for the nose ring she wore during the wedding with many praising her for staying true to herself.

Meghan herself sparkled the event in a white Givenchy wedding gown designed by Clare Waight Keller, the first female artistic director of the French company.

Meghan's best friends including Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, and Jessica Mulroney were among a few other celebrities who were invited to the Royal Wedding.
