A

page called Saving Carson Shelter Dogs posted the video on December 11, 2015.

Benny, a male Pit Bull, was brought to the Carson Animal Care Center on November 23. He was just eight months old and lived in the shelter in Gardena, California, for about two weeks.

The dog immediately captured the attention of those who greeted him at his temporary kennel.

It did take some time before the shelter finally found a match. A family decided to make him a permanent addition within their home on December 10.

Benny was adopted by the family just in time for the holidays. The video showed the dog greeting his new family members at the shelter.

Though he is known for his ‘sweet and shy’ demeanor, he is excited to meet his new family when they came to the shelter to take him to his new home.

At the beginning of the video, Benny is seen sitting quietly and keeping to himself while all the other dogs at the shelter bark.

He is seen rapidly wagging his tail and jumping with joy as he is led out of the building. He is unable to contain his excitement as he gets to walk to the car park with his family.

His leash can barely keep his feet on the ground as he makes a dash for the exit with his new owners by his side.

The shelter said that the ‘special little guy’ captured hearts of every person who passed by his kennel. They waited for the right family to take him home.

They added that his ‘freedom walk’ was filled with lots of jumps and tail-wagging.

The video went viral after it was posted on social media with more than 4.3 million views on Facebook alone. It also garnered over 2.3 million views on YouTube.
