'My 600-lb Life' star looks like a different person after losing almost half his body weight
Micahel Dominguez who had been featured on My 600-lb Life in late 2017, looks amazing after losing nearly fifty percent of his weight.
On the show, Dominguez revealed that he had already weighed more than 300 pounds when he was just 14 years old.
He grew up in Arizona at a home of a strict family. His father was very controlling especially in terms of food.
On his episode on the TLC show, he revealed that at the time, he wanted to channel his fear into eating but his father would not let him. He also shared that they were not allowed to show emotions growing up, as imposed by his father.
"Any emotion was a sign of weakness, so I didn't know how to deal with that. I just bottled up everything inside of me, and then when I felt any kind of pain, any kind of hurt, I ate because it made me feel good,” he explained
Dominguez was ten years old when his father was sent to jail. At that point, he had felt freedom like never before. He began to feel comfortable eating whatever he wanted.
When his father got out of prison, he had already weighed 300 pounds which led Dominguez to be kicked out of his home.
After graduating high school, Dominguez was already over 400 pounds.
He met his wife Roni during his mid-twenties. By then, he was weighing more than 500 pounds.
Dominguez just kept eating and did not have any plans on stopping. By the time that he and Roni reached seven years of dating, Roni was about to give up on Dominguez.
She started to feel irritated by his eating habits and with the fact that he had to rely on her and their children just to do everyday routines.
Roni reached a point where she almost left him.
All the negative events in his life drove Dominguez to change his ways.
At present, he has lost more than 300 pounds and is still with his wife and children.
TLC previously aired a new episode of My 600-lb Life on June 13, 2018, featuring Dominguez and Roni’s weight loss journey.
