Wendy Williams is known for her sharp tongue and sly comments about celebrities. She has been called cold-hearted in many occasions for not having any tact when addressing rumors and delicate situations on her show.

However, the 53-years-old has proven in many occasions that behind her façade, there’s a sensitive woman too. Wendy has been facing health problems and had to take a sick leave earlier this year after her doctor ordered her to rest due to issues with Graves disease. Through her rest, she spent time with her family and tried to not think too much about work.

Just a few days ago, she stepped out with her son and she looked stunning but startled, wearing a peach dress with a metallic beaded duster on top. She completed the look with ballerina flats of the same color and a green handbag. Her son, on the other hand, went for jeans and a black t-shirt.

People have been wondering what was that Wendy saw that made her look so shocked, but is possible just a side effect of her Graves disease, which can lead to eye inflammation, causing swelling of the tissues behind the eye sockets, and the eyes to bulge.

Kevin, who’s now a 17-years-old handsome young man, has made Wendy cry in public in two occasions. One on TV four years ago, when she confessed that he was in that age when boys just want to be boys and he was spending all his time with dad, and other through an interview with the Grio.

Williams confessed on TV that even though she knew it was just a teenager thing, she felt hurt by being rejected by her son and her husband, saying:

“He’s the one who’s 13 and I get it… But it is breaking my heart. And he doesn’t care about Wendy On TV, he doesn’t care about any of that.” He’s a father, he’s a buddy, they talk sneakers, they go for haircuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just left there feeling like, "Why you so pissed?" I’m not pissed, I’m a mom!”

Luckily for Williams, the boy got over it really quick, and by 2016, he was even eager to go out with her for interviews, even if he would sit in a corner and ignore the whole situation. Talking to the Grio, Wendy cried one more time after reflecting on what it means for her to be a mom:

“I couldn’t have done without this. [Tears up.] There’s a lot of women who go through times in their teens and they say, “All I want to do is be a mom,” and then by the time they get to their 20s and get their hearts broken, they’re like, “You know what, I don’t even want to be married, much less be a mom.” What I’ve learned about myself is that I couldn’t do without it.”

Kevin gives Wendy a sense of normalcy that she needs with the crazy life she leads, as she explained:

“All he knows is mom and that’s really a gratifying thing. When I get home after a big day, I just want to return to normal, and there’s no faster way than a kid doing that to you.”

We’re glad to know that Wendy’s relationship with her son is now back to normal. After all, all teenager go through that “I hate my parents” phase and later realize just how important family is for them.
