Kid Rock mourns sudden and tragic death of rock star and longtime friend

Kid Rock shared his grief on social media after the death of Vinnie Paul Abbott. Abbot was the drummer and co-founder of the rock band, Pantera.

Pantera drummer, Abbott, lost his life at the age of 54 on Friday. Following the news, fellow rock star Kid Rock took to Instagram in honor of his longtime friend.

He posted a picture of Abbott on his account and shared that they had a great time together as friends. Kid Rock captioned the photo with a heartfelt message to Abbott. He shared that the rock and roll family will be missing him.

The band, Pantera, announced the death of Abbott on their Facebook account on Saturday morning. They shared that the details of his death were not available and requested to respect the privacy of his family is such trying times.

Although Pantera had not been active since 2003, it remains to be one of the most influential bands in the history of American heavy metal music.

Abbott founded Pantera in the early-'80s with Darrell Abbott. The band made its mark in 1990 and won accolades for their album Cowboys from Hell.

The band shocked the entire music industry when their album Far Beyond Driven debuted at #1 in 1994. Darrell was murdered during a concert in Columbus, as reported by iHeart Radio.

Abbott struggled with depression for many years after Darrell's death. However, it was not clear if his battle with depression played any role in his demise.

Kid Rock mentioned Abbott's struggle in his post and said that now Abbott was resting in peace with his brother. Kid Rock's post received a lot of comments from fans of Abbott.

One user, Stayce Stokes, shared her condolences and said that the music industry suffered another significant loss with Abbott's passing. Another user, Becky Patterson, said that the good ones are always taken away soon.
