Mother found hanged next to three-year-old daughter after argument with boyfriend

A fight with her boyfriend, Marek Goralczyk, who was going out with his friends alone resulted in a 23-year-old beautician, Agnieszka Giza, being found dead beside her crying toddler.

Daily Mail reported that Giza was keen to attend a concert with her businessman boyfriend but was found dead at their Runcorn home in Cheshire, on February 24, 2018.

Marek had refused to take her and left her with their three-year-old daughter because none of his friends were taking their girlfriends along.

This led to the duo exchanging angry WhatsApp messages as Giza suspected Goralczyk to be spending the night with another woman; she gave him a final warning to be home, as per the inquest held.

However, Goralczyk’s cell phone battery was dead and he ended up spending the night with his friend; he, of course, had failed to read the message.

In his statement, Goralczyk mentioned that the couple had met when in Wigan. They began dating in May 2015.

This tragedy took place on February 24, when Marek was invited to attend a rap concert performed by a Polish musician.

Goralczyk in his statement went on to add that Giza was keen on attending the concert but since the other boys were going alone, he would not take her.

On retrospection, Giza thought that her 30-year-old boyfriend was cheating on her. She sent him several WhatsApp messages. He then drank around six red bulls and left.

He stated that he went to his friend’s house and fell asleep. His friend woke him up around two hours later with relentless knocking informing him about the death of Giza.

Goralczyk claimed to be in total shock. He returned home to see the police at their home. He found it impossible to think that Agnieszka had passed away. She was a strong lady and a loving mother.

According to Sgt David Wood, from the Cheshire Police investigating the tragedy informed the Warrington hearing that it was two workmen who arrived at the door around 8 am to mend the patio door.

When they rung the bell, they did not get any reply from Giza despite for about five to ten minutes.

They got worried as they heard her daughter crying. One of the workmen hoisted the other one through an entrance around the back who then let him in at the front.

They started calling out her name and could hear her daughter state that her father was back home.

They knocked at the bedroom door. On getting no response, they hesitated to enter. They called a common friend who opened the door with a chisel. It was at that moment that they sighted Giza.

Through the WhatsApp conversation, it seemed as though she was angry because Goralczyk was not too fond of the particular artist and yet attended the concert along with his friends. This despite the fact that she was keen to attend the concert.

As per the toxicology report, she had 197 milligrams of alcohol per 100 militres of blood in her system.

Assistant Coroner Janet Napier stated that the death was an accident stating that it was difficult to believe that Giza wanted to actually die.
