This man's girlfriend just lost her dog, so he decided to give her an exceptional gift for her birthday.

In this heartwarming video, a boyfriend surprises his distraught girlfriend with the cutest puppy for her 23rd birthday.

After her dog passed away, his boyfriend wanted to do something special for her that would help take her mind off of things and ease the pain a bit.

The man knew that the better way to do that was to get her a new dog.

Surprising people with pets can be a bad thing especially if they're not necessarily prepared to take ownership.

The big day has finally arrived. “You ready to surprise my girlfriend?” says the man in the video.

He knows how shocking his gift is going to be, but he can't wait to show her the puppy.

In the video, the man tells his girlfriend: “Happy birthday, baby.”

Her reaction says it all. She can't hold back her tears. "No!" she says.

"Yes!" he replies. "Happy birthday, baby!" He then gives his special gift to his girlfriend.

"Oh my God!" The woman cries and kisses the puppy.

"Isn't she cute?" the man says. "Happy birthday, baby."

Sobbing, she asks the dog: "Are you real?"

A puppy is indeed a perfect present. It will be a birthday she’ll never forget!
