Bobby Brown shares photo of son with hedgehog-shaped bag on his 1st day of 3rd grade
Bobby Brown, 49, shared a photo of his nine-year-old son, Cassius Brown, and a snippet of his caption implies that the R&B singer is giving joy another chance after losing his daughter in 2015.
Once again, Bobby showed his devoted-family-man side by sharing a photo of Cassius all dressed for school. He updates his followers with details, letting them know it was Cassius’s first day of being in 3rd grade. But even though the curly-haired boy wore a forced smile, his father’s heart is full.
Cassius looks adorable in his patterned sweatshirt and knee-length pants, but it's his backpack that is interesting. Shaped like the outer part of a hedgehog, the back-to-school item caught the attention of a few followers:
“Dope backpack Cassius.”
“Love that backpack.”
Also prominent in the comment section were remarks of how Cassius looked like a Bobby twin.
Cassius was born in May 2009 by Alicia Etheredge, Bobby’s wife who was then his girlfriend. The two had been together for two years prior and did not get married until three years later in 2012. Sadly, Bobby had lost his father and ex-wife Whitney Houston earlier in the same year- his father in January and Houston in February.
But the sorrow Bobby felt in 2012 was nothing compared to the tsunami of emotions that hit when his only daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina, died in 2015. Bobby had the unpleasant experience of hearing doctors declare his daughter brain-dead and shut off the ventilator that had been keeping her alive. Bobbi Kristina was 22.
Her death shook Bobby significantly and he slipped into old ways. Although this time he did not abuse drugs, the “On Our Own” hitmaker resorted to alcohol and ended up shutting himself off from his kids.
Thankfully, Bobby came through that period with a determination to remain sober and become a better father to his children, especially the younger ones.
Bobby also has two other children with Alicia: Bodhi Jameson Brown, who was born 17 days before Bobbi Kristina’s death and Hendrix Estelle Brown born in 2016.
