Madonna shares photo of black son in head-to-toe Gucci outfit for his lavish 13th birthday

Singer and songwriter Madonna, often referred to as the “Queen of Pop,” took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and one of her sons, David, on his 13th birthday.

In the photo, Madonna appeared wearing a long multicolored dress and a beige hat while side-hugging David. The teenager was wearing a gold Gucci outfit that had the signature red and green stripes.

Apart from that, he was also wearing Gucci flip-flops, a watch, and had a Gucci backpack between his legs. Both of them were posing in what seemed to be the family’s garden, which was covered by carpets and cushions.

For the caption, Madonna wished her son a happy birthday and wrote: “Rise Above all limitations!” As soon as she uploaded that picture, her followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

One of them was Instagram user @ima_goodgirll, who said that even though Madonna adopted David, she made sure he knew and was close to his roots, which was both amazing and rare.

DAVID’S BIRTHDAY PARTY

As Metro reported, the singer made sure that the party was as lavish as possible as she invited live musicians and dancers to play and dance to African drum music. She uploaded a video showing the band playing and dancing and, at some point, she danced, too.

MADONNA’S CHILDREN

The singer has two older children that she had naturally. The first one is 21-year-old Lourdes, from her relationship to fitness trainer Carlos Leon, and 17-year-old Rocco, with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

After that, the singer chose to adopt four more children. David was the first one, as the adoption proceedings finished in 2006. Later, in 2009, Mercy James joined their family. Finally, in 2017, she adopted twins Stella and Estere. All her children are from Malawi.

DEBATE ON THE ADOPTIONS

Metro added that controversy surrounded David's adoption as his father was still alive and he supported the process. The twins’ case was similarly criticized because their father revealed he was not aware of the conditions of the arrangement.

It was not the only time Madonna chose an African-themed party for their children. As Celebritist previously reported, the twins’ sixth birthday was also somehow related to their roots as the girls put on African-inspired blue and red birthday dresses.
