Remember actress Pam Grier? This is what she looks like at 69
Actress Pam Grier, best known for her role in Quentin Tarantino’s film Jackie Brown, is 69 years old at the moment and has never stopped working on films.
From being part of popular series like “The L Word” and “Smallville” to appearing in video games like “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” Grier has done pretty much everything in the entertainment industry.
During an interview she had with The Associated Press, she confessed that she didn’t know why the success of Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” surprised so many people. “I applaud them. I want them to succeed,” added Grier.
USA Today explained that she probably said that because she knew that actresses like herself and Angie Dickinson paved the way for current female action stars like Gadot, or Taraji P. Henson.
THE CONS OF BEING AN ACTION STAR
While there were several pros about being considered a popular action actress in the 70s, Grier revealed that there were also a couple of cons that she could still remember during her interview with The Associated Press, like the time she almost broke her ankle filming one of her stunts in the 1972 “Coffy.”
"They painted my cast to look like a boot, and I'm limping. And I was 'Does this look good?' It looks good," revealed the actress. Luckily for nowadays’ actors and actresses, there are stunt doubles equipped with more advanced gear to protect them from such accidents.
“PAM,” THE BIOPIC
As the Huffington Post reported, the actress confirmed that the film, which is very likely to be titled “Pam,” will tell the story of her life on the big screen. It is expected to address several aspects she discussed in her memoir titled “Foxy: My Life in Three Acts.”
One of the most anticipated topics of the upcoming film is her relationships with comedian Richard Pryor. Huffington Post added that former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Jay Pharoah was cast to portray Pryor.
So far, it has not been announced when the biopic will be released. Her fans cannot wait for it, though.
