After man's grandparents die, he rips up the old carpet and finds a hidden safe in the closet
While the man was going through his late grandparent’s farmhouse, he made a once-in-a-lifetime discovery - a hidden safe.
In 2017, Reddit user "EvilEnglish" shared that he had discovered a secret safe in his grandparent's old farmhouse in Tennessee.
“I always dreamed of finding something like this,” he said.
EvilEnglish had a great relationship with his grandparents. He called them PopPop and Nana.
He recounted that PopPop used to read him books such as "Treasure Island" when he was younger.

After the elderly couple passed away, they left their farmhouse to their beloved grandson.
EvilEnglish noticed the block of concrete on the floor of a closet when his family began clearing out the house to prepare it for sale.
He wrote in his post: “This was very out of place since all of the downstairs flooring is hardwood. I pushed the carpet back further and saw a round cap with a circle indentation on it. I pulled off the cap and... A Secret Safe!”
Because he was unable to open it, he decided to call a locksmith.
EvilEnglish shared that his grandfather, who was an avid sportsman, liked to collect antique firearms, while his grandmother liked to collect coins and other antiques.
He also revealed that he once found parts of his grandfather’s pistol collection in another hidden safe.
The family discovered a veritable treasure trove when the locksmith finally cracked the lock on the concrete safe.
Among the findings includes pocket watches, soggy money, boxes of jewelry, and dozens and dozens of collectible coins.
“I knew my Grandmother collected coins, but I thought we had found all of them!“ he wrote.
Though the pipe leak caused a good deal of moisture to seep into the safe, many of the items were protected by casings from damage.
