Simon Cowell stopped the music during an audition, but the woman's second song was magical
Simon Cowell held up his hand and stopped the music while Ronee Martin was singing, but she wowed the judges with a furious performance of her second song.
As shown in a video posted to YouTube, the 62-year-old legal assistant and aspiring singer confidently takes the stage of "America’s Got Talent" in 2016, facing all four judges with a beaming smile and upbeat spirit.
She began her audition by singing “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” Cowell then held up his hand to stop the music after Martin sang just a few verses of the beloved classic hit made famous by Bonnie Raitt.
Martin abruptly quit singing and waited for Cowell’s explanation. “I don’t think that’s the right song for you, Ronee. What else have you got?” asked the judge, who is known for not mincing words when assessing a contestant’s performance.

“There’s no way to say ‘no’ to phenomenal,” remarked judge Howie Mandel. Cowell and the rest of the judges also heaped praises on her.
After her performance, Martin said her audition felt like an “out-of-body experience.”
Earlier in the audition, Martin explained that she wasn’t someone to easily give up on her dreams. She also shared that she had once been just inches away from a record deal before it fell through.
The video of Martin’s performance has been viewed more than 700,000 times since it was posted on YouTube on June 22, 2016. It has also amassed 2,000 likes.
