In an exclusive interview with The New York Times, the “American Psycho” and “Mulholland Drive” actor spoke out for the first time about what it was like to split up with Jennifer Aniston, saying:

“The good news is that was probably the most — I’m choosing my words really carefully — it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity”

Theroux and Aniston split up after nearly seven years together and 2 years of marriage. They officially announced their amicable separation in February via a statement through their rep:

“In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”

Contrary to what the tabloids have printed about their relationship and reasons for splitting up, Theroux is adamant that while there has been some sadness from both parties, they are not trying to "throw hatchets at each other, saying:

“It was heartbreaking, only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.”

Trying to expand on the intricacies of what makes up a Hollywood marriage, he described it as living a "carny lifestyle," saying about splitting up:

“[It] doesn’t have that seismic shift of an ordinary couple, where everything is, like, you have to tear a baby in half. [...] It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.”

Theroux neither confirmed nor denied media speculation that he is seeing someone.

Justin spoke with Men's Health while doing a series of shoots for their July/August edition and surprised fans with his admission that he did not have a bucket list and rarely plans his tattoos in advance.

Both he and Aniston shared a passion for fitness and weren't afraid of getting sweaty at the gym to stay toned and pumped.

In a recent AmoMama article, we shared so-called insider information that Aniston is currently being pursued by two men, neither of whom are actors.

Aniston dated Theroux for almost eight years before the pair tied the knot after her prior marriage to Brad Pitt left her heartbroken when he left her for his leading lady. Pitt is currently also divorced from Angelina Jolie.
