8-year-old girl becomes certified barber & gives free haircuts to kids in her city
An 8-year-old girl who’s a certified barber is now giving free haircuts in her spare time. She also revealed one famous personality whose hair she’d like to cut if she had a chance.
Neijai Graham-Henries was barely in second grade when she learned to expertly cut hair. She now offers her services for free at a barbershop, to the delight of her parents and others who’ve heard her story.
Neijai was only seven years old when she accompanied her brother at a Junior Barber Academy for some training. While her brother showed no interest in the course, Neijai breezed through it with flying colors. Even Michael Boone, the owner of the academy, saw a great potential in her. He told Yahoo Lifestyle,
“I never expected to see a young lady in my class, but she was eager to learn, and I gave her the same guidance I’d give my older students.”
Her mother, Jamie Graham says Neijai was never intimidated during her training despite the fact that she was the youngest and the only female. She just really enjoyed cutting hair.
When Boone orchestrated a back-to-school event providing free haircut to over 300 kids, Neijai volunteered and even brought her own clippers.
“He has too much long hair, so I would cut it.”
Meanwhile, a 9-year-old boy is also making headlines for his ability to cut hair. Quinelius Jones learned the ways of a barber by observing his father who’s a certified barber himself. By the time he was 4, he started cutting hair. Now that he’s 9, he already cuts like a pro. It’s predicted that by the time he turns 12, he’ll already be able to match his father’s expertise. Quinelius has since guested on The Steve Harvey Show where he showcased his talents.
Quinelius cutting hair at 4 years old is quite impressive. But wait until you hear the story of an adorable one-year-old who exhibited a future in the salon business not for her ability to cut hair but for her knack in dishing out salon talk. A video posted by her mother features toddler Jayde brushing her mother's hair as she engages in conversation with her. She begins to imitate what her mother is saying to her then later utters phrases like "and then what happened" and "he tripping, right." The video is just so adorable you can't help but doubt she's only 1.
