Michelle Obama gets dragged for her outfit during public appearance with friend in NYC

Michelle Obama, the wife of the former POTUS Barack Obama, made headlines after being photographed with an outfit that attracted several negative comments.

After being in Spain for a while, Michelle went to the Walter Kerr Theater in New York City to attend the show of one of her friends, Bruce Springsteen. While she has been praised on many occasions for her elegant yet affordable wardrobe, it was different this time.

She wore a button-up, long-sleeved shirt and matching pants, paired with silver, high-heeled sandals. Her hair fell to her shoulders in curls, and she wore large hoop earrings.

While walking to the vehicle that drove her out of the theater, she stopped for a while to wave at the cameras and to be photographed.

PEOPLE’S REACTION

As soon as those pictures hit the Internet, people started sharing their negative comments. One of them pointed out that the former FLOTUS looked like if she was getting out of a pajama party.

Others said that Michelle looked like she just “broke out of jail.” One user wrote that she probably woke up late for the play, so she just showed up at the theater with the same clothes she chose to sleep the night before.

Pajamas or not, Michelle has been enjoying her life lately as she went to Spain for vacations where former Ambassador James Costos and his partner Michael Smith joined her.

The fact that the former FLOTUS was at Bruce’s show wasn’t surprising because they have been friends for a while. He has supported Michelle and Barack for a long time, too.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE OBAMAS AND BRUCE

Bruce was on the 2008 campaign trail with Barack Obama, after which he played at the presidential inauguration. He endorsed the Democratic candidate again in 2012.

MICHELLE OFFICATING A WEDDING

Last month, Michelle was recorded officiating the wedding ceremony for Stephanie Rivkin and Joel Sircus. In the short clip, the former FLOTUS appeared reading the vows into the microphone.

According to The Hill, Michelle’s connection to the couple comes through the bride, as she is the daughter of former Chicago Deputy Mayor Robert S. Rivkin and the president of the Pritzker Traubert Foundation, Cindy Moelis.

Penny Pritzker, who served as former President Obama's commerce secretary, founded that charity.
