Who is Robert Ellis Silberstein?

Robert Ellis Silberstein is a music executive and businessman. He managed many musicians, including Billy Preston, Diana Ross, Rufus, Meat Loaf, and Status Quo. Silberstein is the ex-husband of iconic American singer, Diana Ross.

Early life:

Silberstein was born on January 5, 1946. His family were wealthy and followed the Jewish faith. Silberstein's family were manufacturers in Elberon, New Jersey.

Silberstein graduated from West Virginia University, after which he took a teaching job at the university for a short time.

Career:

Silberstein became a music executive, using his business knowledge to land huge stars as clients. He has managed many big names in the music industry.

He rose to fame when he married one of his clients, singer, and actress, Diana Ross.

Personal life:

Robert Ellis Silberstein married Diana Ross in 1971. Together they have three children, Tracee Ellis Ross, Rhonda Ross Kendrick, and Chudney Ross.

The younger two are biologically Silberstein's own children, while Rhonda Ross Kendrick is Diana Ross' child from a previous relationship, Silberstein raised her as his own.

All three of their daughters are in show business.
