Kim Freshwater was so afraid of missing her son's future school ceremony due to her being too large to fit the chairs, and so she took the necessary measures to make sure this didn't happen.

After weighing a total of 29 stones and breaking a chair, Kim said that something had to be done about her obesity. Before she could break anything else, she made sure to undergo a fitness regimen that made her drop a total of 13 dress sizes or more than half her body weight.

The individual success of the 45-year-old was acknowledged by the gym she went to, calling her "Woman of the Year" by Slimming World.

In a span of two and a half years, Freshwater's weight fell from 28 stones and 12 pounds to just 11 stones and 7 pounds. From a size 38, she now wears size 12 clothing.

Sharing her thoughts about everything to The Daily Mail UK, she says that she didn't want to embarrass her son when he accepts an award at school given the foldable chairs that the school provides. She even avoided attending weddings, family gatherings, and parties because she might embarrass her party.

"A chair had already collapsed under me while we were staying with friends for Christmas. It was mortifying and I was constantly scared that I would break something else."

Kim, who resides in Havant, Hampshire with her accountant husband Lee and their teenage children, has had to walk with canes, suffered high blood pressure, joint pain, and breathing problems. Now,  none of these are part of Freshwater's worries, as she's lost an incredible amount of weight in the last two years.

"I actually eat more now than I did before but I’ve learned to make good choices."

In order to lose weight, she not only learned how to eat right but made sure to have an overall healthy lifestyle. Kim tried a variety of sports such as tennis, swimming, cycling, and even simple cardio which eventually led to her huge weight loss.
