The 27-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver shared details of his health shift during a panel discussion on May 10, 2025, at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles.
Speaking alongside his mother, Kelly Osbourne, and host Jeff Beacher, Christopher described how his weight once held him back from everyday experiences.
"I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia," he said. "I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, 'Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,' and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities."
He recalled one specific moment that stood out. "I was like, 'I want to go skydiving.' And my friends were like, 'Yeah, no shot.' I was like, 'Yeah, I can't skydive.'"
Christopher explained that his concern with weight began years earlier, even in high school, when he brought custom meals to school in an effort to eat healthier.
"I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school," he added.

He emphasized that the process was far from instant. "It's not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error," he noted. Despite his progress, he admitted, "I don't feel like I'm an after yet. I don't feel like I'm at the point."
His weight loss gained public attention when he was photographed last month during a dinner outing in West Hollywood. He wore a fitted navy-blue shirt and khakis while out with his brother, Patrick Schwarzenegger.
During the panel, Christopher also shared that a personal commitment during Lent led to a significant weight change.
"Weirdly enough, I gave up bread for Lent," he revealed. "I don't know if anyone's Catholic in here, but I gave up bread for Lent."
He continued, "I was like, 'Well, if I'm giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I'm a good Catholic boy, so I'm not going to break it.'" That single commitment helped him shed 30 pounds in under two months.
