Customer orders 2 glasses of water then disappears, leaving $10K cash tip

A waitress was in for the treat of her life when a man walked into the restaurant she worked at and left a whopping $10,000 tip after ordering just water.

Last Saturday, a man walked into the restaurant "Sup Dogs" in Greenville, North Carolina, and ordered two glasses of water. After taking a few sips, he left $10,000 cash on the table with a note that said "thanks for the delicious water".

Surprised at what had happened, the restaurant's official Instagram account made sure to take a photo of the unreal experience, and that garnered attention from thousands of people. Since then, they have been interviewed by outlets like The News & Observer, where restaurant owner Brett Oliverio shares more details about the incident.

According to Brett, given that Sup Dogs is in downtown Greenville and is a favorite not only among residents but also students in the nearby East Carolina University, they get a good amount of large tips. However, it has never been this huge or anything close to it.

As for who the supposedly anonymous tipper was, it turns out that it was a YouTube star who planned to film the server's reaction after picking up the money.

"Ended up being a YouTube star, MrBeast. They filmed the server's reaction as she picked up the money. Crazy."

Oliverio also shared that the $10,000 tip was the biggest they've ever received, and the second closest was at $500. The server who was able to get the tip was a working student at ECU, Alaina Custer. While she did keep a portion of the tip, she decided to share it with the rest of the staff at the restaurant.

“I literally didn’t think it was real. I picked it up and it was a giant stack of hundreds,. I was shaking and just kept asking Bret, ‘What is this?’ I thought someone was playing a joke on me.”

After the man that turned out to be MrBeast left, she was so surprised that she started shaking without realizing that two other men who were with the YouTuber were in another table, filming her reaction.

"[They were] just kind of watching my reaction and filming. I was so in shock I didn’t even realize he was filming until after."

MrBeast is a YouTube personality from North Carolina, known as Jimmy in real life. As of date, he has an approximate 8.8 million followers and is known for dropping thousands of dollars in tips to people he meets.

Previously, he dropped $20,000 from a drone and tipped a pizza delivery man $10,000 in cash.

In the end, Jimmy walked back in the restaurant after filming and gave hugs to all the employees, who all appreciated the surprise grand gesture.

Truly, there are still some good people in this world trying to help those who are in need.
