Michelle Obama is on a mission to get people to vote and had a lot to say when it came to the reason why everyone should raise their voice.

Over the last few months, with the help of her own team and husband Barack Obama, Michelle has been urging people to register to vote and make their voices heard,

During an exclusive interview with Blavity, the former First Lady of the United States revealed that nowadays it is very important not to ignore what is happening.

MORE THAN A DUTY

According to Michelle, millennials should pursue a crucial goal: to make democracy work for them and shared that this can only be achieved through voting.

The 54-year-old explained that it is understandable to see so many Americans disappointed with the country's political system, but doing nothing is not an option nor a solution.

VOTING IS A RIGHT

In fact, doing nothing is the worst thing that people can do because those who don't vote are giving up a chance to stand up for themselves and putting their lives in the hands of others.

Michelle argued that not everyone has the same needs or the same difficulties in life, so those who vote may choose to support a cause that doesn't benefit those who stay at home.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The former First Lady also stated that by voting, Americans will continue fighting for what they believe and that that can change the course of history for the better.

By voting, they are keeping their dignity; keeping one's dignity is to not give up, no matter how many people are on the other side. While she was in the White House, her family was constantly being attacked by haters, but they never quit.

NEVER BACKING DOWN

According to Michelle, the best way to handle that sort of pressure is the old 'when they go low, we go high.' Staying silent when insulted, holding back when attacked is a demonstration of power and self-control.

That is what Michelle wants the American people to understand; it is always worth fighting. There is a time to stay silent and there is a time to speak up and the time has come to vote and make a difference.

Much like her husband, Michelle is a symbol of hope and a role model to many women; recently, a young girl named Parker Curry proved just that by dressing up like her for Halloween, melting thousands of hearts on the internet.
