2-year-old boy is left by mom's friend at a stranger's doorstep in bizarre video

In Spring, Texas, a 2-year-old boy was caught on video being left all alone in the front porch of a stranger's home after his mom's friend left him there.

According to the owner of the house who spoke to ABC13 about the incident, she went out to answer the door when she heard the doorbell, and there she found a 2-year-old boy standing all alone with no adult. She said that at that moment, she decided to call 911 about it.

The resident then proceeded to show the deployed police officers some surveillance footage of when the woman dropped off the child after stepping out of a white passenger car. When she gets to the door, she then rings the doorbell, knocks on the door, and runs back to her car while the little boy was left all alone with the two duffle bags she dropped off as well. In total, the incident lasted only 23 seconds.

The father of the child was soon after identified when the news outlet's Courtney Fischer showed him a footage of what happened, and he then recognized the boy as his son, Royal Simmons. He shared how shocked he was to discover that his son was almost lost in the night due to someone else's irresponsibility.

"What if my neighbor wasn't there? If my neighbor wasn't there, my son would have been roaming up and down the street. That was very irresponsible. And I feel the lady who dropped my son off needs to be held accountable."

When the parents of the 2-year-old were called to the police station for questioning, the mother explained that it was all a big misunderstanding and that she asked her friend to drop him off, but she ended up dropping him off in the wrong house.

Up until today, no charges have been filed against the woman who dropped the child off.
