Kim had about an hour to evacuate their mansion in Calabasas, Hidden Hills due to the spreading of the fires early last week, she took aerial shots of Calabasas as they fled their 15,000 square foot home with an estimated worth of $20 million to fly with a private plane to visit Kendall in Beverly Hills until it’s safe to return. On her Instagram story, Kim wrote:
“Pray for Calabasas. Just landed back home and had 1 hour to pack up & evacuate our home. I pray everyone is safe.”
During the acceptance speech at the 2018 E! People’s Choice Awards and moved by the plight of many, Kim began by saying:
“It’s been a really rough week in our home in Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and our neighbors in Thousand Oaks and Malibu. Our hearts are broken from the horrific shootings and those who have lost their lives and homes as well as the hundreds of thousands of us that have been evacuated from the devastating fires that are currently burning.”
Kim further elaborated on her belief that action and needed and continued:
“Action is necessary, so anything that we can do to help, as simple as donating to the many organizations that are collecting supplies, no form of help is too small. Our country is stronger when we come together and we cannot face devastation alone. We must continue to reach out and help each other in these trying times. So thank you so much to all the people who have voted for us. This is such an honor, and we would like to dedicate this win to all the firefighters, the law enforcement, and the first responders. We really truly appreciate what you have done for all of us, so please let’s continue to pray for everyone’s safety.”
Smoke was clearly visible over the area where the vigil for the victims of the Borderline Bar shooting was held. The fire originally started on Thursday afternoon east of the city Chatsworth, the wind urged it along and quickly got dubbed the ‘Hill Fire’ as the fire covered about 10,000 acres by Friday morning. A second fire started near Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks in the Santa Rosa Valley east of Camarillo.
Seeming unperturbed by events and having had to evacuate their home the previous night, Kim got spotted leaving an Epione Skin Clinic in Beverly Hills with friend Larsa Pippen on Friday. Wearing a black hoodie with most of her face covered Kim tried to stay under the radar while making a call as the two were leaving the clinic.
While inside the clinic, Kim took to Twitter and said:
“I heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now are more contained and have stopped at the moment. It doesn’t seem like it is getting worse right now, I just pray the winds are in our favor. God is good. I’m just praying everyone is safe.”
