Carrie Underwood shares her overwhelming emotions after the CMA with a touching photo of her son
On Thursday Carrie Underwood took to Instagram following her CMA award for Female Vocalist of the Year 2018. She wanted to thank her fans for their support and shared a few pictures from the CMA Awards show held in Nashville on Wednesday night, and her son.
The CMA Awards closed of an emotional year for Carrie and also saw the release of her latest album in September, ‘Cry Pretty.’ On the first picture Carrie is backstage holding her award and an envelope containing her name, but what you see first is her beaming smile.
Another photo depicts her posing in the press room with her award shortly after the show. To her fans, as a show of appreciation she wrote:
"Last night was a dream...one I’m still doing my best to not wake up from. Today (and every day) I am thankful for all those in my world who make this life happen! Thank you, fans, for the constant support and encouragement. YOU give all of us these amazing opportunities to do what we love. I hope I made you proud last night!PS- the last pic was just too cute to share! #LoveWins @cma #CMAAwards."

The cute last picture Carrie referred to was of her son, Isaiah. He was watching mum perform on the television during the broadcast, and reached out his hand to the screen to touch her face.
While accepting her award, Carrie got emotional as she expressed her gratitude towards her friends, family, and coworkers and said:
"Thank you, God. I have been blessed with so much in my life. I'm still every day trying to figure it out because I haven't done anything to deserve it."
During the show, Carrie also announced that they are expecting a boy. She appeased fans and laid speculation to rest, even though it happened in a comical fashion rather than the conventional sense of the word, 'announcement.'
Carrie and co-host Brad Paisley conversed in light banter, and Brad brought up the fact that he accidentally told everyone during the last CMA Awards, while Carrie was pregnant with Isaiah, what his gender was.
Brad pestered Carrie about telling them what the name of the baby she is expecting now, is since she already said they had picked a name for their unborn child. Carrie eventually caved and exclaimed, ‘It's Willie!.’ Co-host Brad wasted no time with a retort:
“Carrie blew it! Trending worldwide! Way bigger than when I did it, and worse!”
This year also marked the 11th time Carrie has hosted the CMA Awards, and to symbolically pay tribute to that; she wore 11 different outfits. Her first dress was floral gown draped to the floor, dragging behind her over the red carpet.
One of the memorable outfits was a stunning blue dress with capped sleeves she wore during her solo performance during which she brought the audience to their feet.
As part of a funny quip her co-host Brad gave her a bubble wrap dress, to protect her if she fell, a play on her fall shortly after the VMA awards last year, leaving her with several injuries.
For the last part of the show and as her final outfit she wore a black and chrome dress that fell to the floor. An emotional and special night for Carrie in more than one way.
