Michelle Obama has come clean about her feeling towards President Donald Trump. In an interview, she talked about why he won in 2016.

Michelle sat down and discussed her raw feelings with ABC's Robin Roberts. She touched on several topics which she also wrote about in her new book, "Becoming."

The former First Lady and her husband Barack Obama rooted for Hilary Clinton back in 2016. However, they were obliged to attend several events when Trump won.

Since then, the couple has remained professional. And, for the most part, they've kept their opinions about the Trump administration to themselves.

Yet, when asked why she thinks the current President got elected into office, Michelle laid it out simply. She said:

"Trump won because a lot of people came to the polls, and a lot of people didn't."

Michelle also expressed that Trump's attempts at undoing Obama's work is not something she takes personally.

At the end of the day, it was the people who voted, and who now have to judge what is being done by Trump. According to Michelle, she and her husband did their job and did the best they could.

Michelle's book further includes eye-opening secrets the 54-year-old never revealed before. Regarding Trump's inauguration, she said that she "stopped even trying to smile."

In her book, she expanded on the matter of voting and Trump's election:

“But voters make those decisions and once the voters have spoken, we live with what we live with."

However, Michelle refuses to live down Trump's actions from the past. She said she felt that him stoking the fires of the false rumors regarding Obama's birthplace put her family in danger.

For that, she wrote, she will "never forgive" the President.

“Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk."

Trump reacted to the words during an outside press conference on Friday.

"I'll never forgive him for what he did to our United States military. I'll never forgive him for many other things."

Michelle hasn't countered the President's rebuttal. Instead, she is looking to the future and the 2020 elections.

In the interview, she may have disappointed fans by confirming she won't be running for the presidency. Yet she did joke that her daughter Sasha might be the next Obama in office.

On a more serious note, Michelle said he hopes for great candidates who "treat each other respectfully." Frankly, she is calling on anyone who feels qualified to run to do so.

Michelle's book was released on Tuesday and is available for purchase online.
