California cop celebrated Christmas with his family just hours before he was shot dead.

Police officer Ronil Singh was a happy man. He was celebrating Christmas with his lovely wife and baby son, and he recorded that joyous moment with a photo just before starting his shift for the Newman Police Department.

It was to be the last time he was with his family. A few hours later he was shot dead during a DUI traffic stop, reported the Daily Mail on December 28, 2018.

"There is right now a full-scale manhunt going on in California for an illegal immigrant accused of shooting and killing a police officer during a traffic stop. Time to get tough on Border Security. Build the Wall!"

OFFICER'S LAST FAMILY PHOTO

In the family's heartbreaking last photo, Singh, 33, is sitting in front of his Christmas tree with his wife Anamika and his tiny son 5-month-old son, who is sporting a cute Santa hat for his first Christmas.

Singh was gunned down by an illegal immigrant during a traffic stop at 1 am on the morning of December 26, 2018. Singh would never come home, and he won't see his son grow up.

Ronil Singh was also an immigrant - a legal one - who had moved to the U.S. from his native Fiji to become a Police Officer.

MANHUNT TO CATCH COP KILLER

Californian authorities launched a manhunt in an attempt to track down and detain the Modesto officer's killer. The man drew a gun on Singh when he was stopped and shot him repeatedly in cold blood.

SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT RELEASED PHOTOS OF KILLER

Sgt. Tom Letras of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, revealed that the police had photos of the presumed killer, which they were divulging through social media. The man's name had not been released and he is believed to go by several aliases.

PRESIDENT TRUMP CALLS FOR BORDER WALL

In the aftermath of Singh's death, President Donald Trump made a statement calling for the building of the border wall, hinging on the fact that the suspected killer is an illegal immigrant.

SUSPECTED KILLER ARRESTED

Singh's alleged killer has been arrested. Gustavo Perez Arriaga, a Mexican national, was arrested in Bakersfield. According to authorities, Arriaga was trying to flee to Mexico.

Arriaga is believed to have gang connections and operates several Facebook pages under various aliases.

California Gov. Jerry Brown extended his condolences to Singh's family, and ordered the flags at the state Capitol flown at half-staff in his honor.

In a related story, a California Police officer adopted the baby of a drug-addicted homeless woman that he helped in the course of duty.
